Four Wild West showmen gathered in 1915 for this snapshot on the 101 Ranch outside Ponca City OK: from left, Col. C.W. Finney, general agent, Major Gordon W. Lillie (Pawnee Bill), Col. Joe Miller (owner of the 101 Ranch and Wild West Show) and Col. Zack Mulhall, frontiersman. The photo is stamped, ”Bob Taber, Riverside California.” Taber was a well-known photographer of circuses, rodeos and Wild West shows and collector of entertainment memorabilia. Taber would have been only 18 at the time this photo was taken, so it is more likely that he acquired the negative and developed it sometime in the 1930s. The attributions are hand written on the back of the photograph and reproduced on the rear of the frame. Condition: Excellent. Dimensions: Frame: 7” x 8” Image 3.5” x 5”.
