Our three diminutive hand painted bird carvings are signed by wildlife sculptor Bob Jones and date to 1991 and 1992. Still at work in his Cranberry Lake studio in New York’s Adirondack Mountains, Bob Jones has been crafting decoys and decorative carvings for more than 50 years. He began his career in the lumber business where client demand for white pine stock for decoys introduced him to the carver's art. Taught to make his own hunting decoys from the renowned carver Lloyd Johnson, Jones is currently one of the most successful and admired nature artists. Our three birds, a canvasback, a Northern pintail and a longtail are typical of his decorative work of the period: beautifully rounded, detailed and subtle. Condition: Excellent, minor surface dirt. Dimensions: Largest, 7.5" x 2.5" x 3.5".
