This unusual set of rhodium-plated crystal earrings and pin by Kramer of New York (1943-1980) was undoubtedly manufactured in the last half of the 1940s when fashion jewelry houses were beginning to embrace the extravagance of the post-World War II era of Christian Dior’s “New Look.” Producer of some of the world’s leading costume jewelry of the period, Kramer was particularly associated with Dior, and pieces from the signature line created for the French couturier are so marked. While our set wasn’t specifically made for Dior, it is beautifully designed and crafted to the same high standards. Kramer is known to have used Austrian crystals and high-quality rhinestones; but the size, clarity, weight, and whiteness of the stones in our examples are typical of fine French paste. The royal blue velvet box is not original to the jewels but is of the same period. Condition: Excellent. Dimensions: Earrings and pin each approximately 1". Box is approximately 3".
